Welcome to “Decorating Ideas Made Easy”! My name is Jennifer, and I love decorating. I love laughing. I love Mexican food. I love my family. I love my dogs. And I love happy women who inspire me to be a better person.
I truly have been an interior decorator since I was a little girl. I have always loved to see how other people decorate their homes. Do you ever drive through a neighborhood and wish you could see inside someone's home? That's me.
I started my own design business, “JD Designs” in 2004. I was honored to receive the People’s Choice award in the 2008 “Parade of Homes”. So, big whoop on all that. You know what makes the buttons pop off my blouse the most? (and no, not when I eat too much Mexican food!) It is when someone compliments my home by saying "I love your house, it is so warm and cozy". It isn't about the decorating. The heart of the matter is about how you make the ones you love feel when they are in your home. The power to nurture cannot be taken lightly.
I have been married to my college sweetheart for 26 years. I have two grown sons, and a teenage daughter. My middle son is a United States Recon Marine, and last year served a tour in Afghanistan. While extremely proud, I realized there is no wrinkle cream at any price, that will prevent your face from sagging due to stress and worry.
I love to create a "home". I hyperventilate when I am at the flea market, drive like a mad woman when I am garage saling, and lose many hours in a happy, vegetative state while on Pinterest.
I'm glad you've stopped by my website. This has been a labor of love for two years now. But, I am finally beginning to see it "pay" off. Being an interior decorator is not like the 30 minute shows on HGTV. You do a lot of grunt work, and a lot of sweating, and you look disheveled half the time.
I read about a company called Site Build It, and decided that my passion and knowledge about interior decorating could build an e-business. I'm not getting any younger, and my bones and muscles are starting to fight back after a day of lifting, loading, and lollygagging at a client's home.
Well, that's my story and I am sticking to it. Don't be shy, share your thoughts, questions, and sweet suggestions.
Take a look at why I decided writing a website was right for me.
