Dining Room and Music Room Makeover!

by Leslie Hoyt
(Goodbye House Hello Home)

The ceilings are 9 feet, and therefore the rooms were large enough to handle the bold color.
The room was painted with “Lady Bug”, Sherwin Williams. It took 5 coats, including primer. Ugh!
I also sewed the slipcover for the love seat out of brushed cotton duck.

I found the chandelier for $10 at a garage sale. I it painted black.
Then I spent $5 at a garage sale on the antique mirror frame. It was painted and a mirror added.

Our wonderful garage sale hutch.
It was pine, custom-made, and I loved the curves.
This was primed, then a coat of Laura Ashley Cowslip 3 yellow was added.
The chairs are Lyre-back, English. Another find - $10 garage sale chairs.
I found the prints at Good Will for $2.99 each and
they must have been meant for our home, because they each had
the flowers of the month for each of our birthdays!
I added molding to the walls around the room, too.
Every single piece of silver or ironstone came from a garage sale or Good Will.

Hi!
by: Leslie, the Home Maker

Feels weird to rate my own page--but since it took 5 coats of paint, it gets a 5!
Thank you for featuring me at your place, Jennifer.
It's an honor to be here :)

I think you get a 10 star for 5 coats of paint! Great job!
