Two Young Inspirational DIY'ers!

When I first discovered the world of home decorating blogs, Young House Love was the very first blog I ever stumbled upon. I remember the first photo I ever saw was of their front porch makeover project. I was hooked.

Young House Love is such a happy success story. This blog was started in 2007 by Sherry and John Petersik. John tells how he started the blog because he wanted to share his DIY projects with his friends and family. Their blog quickly took off. They have appeared in countless magazines, have made several television appearances, have been a guest on the Nate Berkus Show, AND are getting ready to publish their first book. These two DIY enthusiasts are inspirational and take you on a delightful journey no matter what project they are tackling.

The success of their blog can be contributed to all of their project ideas, which range from furniture makeovers, painting projects, money saving tips, green living ideas, interior decorating ideas, home repair advice, and on and on.

But, their success is really about more than talent. These two have a wonderful zest for life, and this comes across in every post and every photo. They are having a great time with all of their remodeling projects and it shows!

You will constantly see photos of their little pup named “Hamburger”. Being a dog owner myself, I am smitten with the little guy. Then came what they call their best “project” to date; and that is their little girl, Clara. She is precious.

So, enough of my rambling, let’s take a look at why I believe this blog is one of the best blogs on the net.

I'm afraid if I saw this kitchen when looking to purchase a home, I would have decided that there was absolutely no hope!

I know! The remodel takes your breath away! It is gorgeous! The new floor is cork! They offer a great tutorial on installing cork flooring, as well as many photos of this kitchen remodel. What a fabulous job!

Not anymore! I love the sectional and all of the color choices. The window treatments they hung give the illusion of larger windows.

I think one of my favorite things about Young House Love is their ability to decorate on a budget. It takes more work to be a bargain hunter, and having the ability to see something in the rough and know you can totally transform it into something special.

These two are never afraid to get their hands dirty!
